ARAGON ROUND | SATURDAY
May 30, 2026
The day began with the Superpole Race over 10 laps. Bautista, starting from fifteenth, made the most of the opportunities offered by the race, quickly moving up the order and joining the battle for the top ten. The Spaniard overtook first Michael van der Mark and then Xavi Vierge. In the closing stages, also helped by a crash in the leading group of the chasing pack, both riders gained another position, crossing the line in eighth place for Álvaro and ninth for Yari.
In the main race of the weekend, Alvaro got off to strong starts, moving into ninth.
The Spaniard, back racing just fourteen days after the surgery following the injury sustained in the previous round, pushed through the pain throughout the race, overtaking first Bridewell and then Surra to climb back to sixth place. In the final laps he had to defend from Gerloff’s attacks, ultimately securing a solid seventh place at the chequered flag.
The championship returns in two weeks at Misano, where the team will face its home race of the season.

ALVARO BAUTISTA
“I am really proud of this whole weekend. On Tuesday afternoon we made the decision to try to get back on track on Friday, and from that moment we improved consistently. Lap after lap I regained more confidence in my foot, and every time we went out on track the pace improved. Today was a very demanding day. After the Superpole Race we started from fifteenth and finished eighth; I am happy because recovering so many positions in a short race is never easy. Also, over the past days the maximum number of consecutive laps I had done was five, and after the ten laps of the Superpole Race my foot was really tired. We managed the situation well and recovered for Race 2, even though the last four laps were particularly tough. I am happy because we stayed competitive, kept a good pace and collected valuable data. I am sorry about yesterday’s race, because it would have been interesting to see what we could have done. Today we used a different setup to make the most of the X tyre in the morning and decided to keep it for the afternoon. Yesterday we were on the 0 tyre with a different setup, and if we had been able to complete more laps it would have been interesting to make a deeper comparison. I want to thank the whole team for their support and work throughout the weekend. On Friday, honestly, we did not even know if we would be able to race, so finishing the weekend like this makes me very satisfied”.
