ARAGON ROUND | FRIDAY
May 29, 2026| The Saturday of the Aragón Round ended with Álvaro Bautista retiring after a likely contact or debris in the early stages damaged the area between the brake hose and caliper, causing a loss of pressure. After a positive Friday, the team faced Saturday in a more competitive context, with a constantly evolving track and rivals who significantly improved their pace. In FP3 Bautista continued his process of regaining confidence, setting a lap of 1:48.981, a clear improvement compared to the previous day. In Superpole, however, the team was unable to make the expected step forward. Alvaro finished fifteenth, still limited in his ability to push at full pace in the faster sections following his recent injury. Thanks to penalties applied to other riders, the team rider started Race 1 from fourteenth position. At lights out, Alvaro delivered a unfortunate race. The Spaniard was using the first race back to regain confidence with the bike and collect valuable mileage, but his comeback was cut short by a brake system issue. Early checks indicate that, due to a possible contact in the opening laps or debris on track, the area connecting the brake hose to the caliper was damaged, causing a loss of pressure that forced Álvaro to retire. The team will now analyse all the data gathered to identify areas for improvement ahead of the Superpole Race and Race 2, with the aim of Bautista continue rebuilding his feeling after the injury. |

ALVARO BAUTISTA
“Today I was able to ride better. We recovered quite well from yesterday’s effort and already this morning I regained confidence. In FP3 we made a small step forward and in Superpole I was able to push, although I am still struggling a bit with quick movements. The position was not at the front, but in terms of gap to the top 10 we were not far. In Race 1 I felt much better with my foot, I had more strength, less pain and I was able to focus more on riding rather than the injury. On that side I was quite satisfied. Unfortunately, we had a issue with the brakes and after a few laps I had to retire. It’s a shame because physically I felt much better than in the previous days, but these things can happen. We will try again tomorrow. Overall, I am happy with how my feeling is improving this weekend”.
