ALVARO BAUTISTA
“A pity about today’s Race 2. I had a crash at Turn 8 on the opening lap involving other riders, I was hit and went down. I’m sorry because, after the work we did this morning, I had improved my feeling with the bike. In the Superpole Race we were close to the top nine, but I lost a lot in the first lap due to the battle in the pack. In Race 2 I was hoping to make a comeback like yesterday. It was important to finish the race because we had made significant changes to the bike and wanted to gather feedback, but unfortunately that was not possible, and it was not our fault that we did not reach the finish. I’m sorry because this weekend was very important for the team. I’m not yet at 100% physically and during these days we didn’t manage to find an optimal feeling with the bike. I’m disappointed with the result, but I still want to congratulate the team for the three podiums — they deserve it, we are all working well. Now we will have more time to recover, and I hope to arrive at the next race fully fit at 100%“.
