MISANO ROUND | SUNDAY
June 14, 2026Starting from seventeenth on the grid, Bautista delivered an impressive recovery ride. The Spaniard made up ground from the opening laps, pulling off a series of overtakes that first brought him into the top ten and then up to ninth place, thanks to a decisive pass in the closing stages of the race. It was a solid and determined performance that allowed the two-time WorldSBK Champion to gain eight positions from his starting spot while gathering valuable information ahead of Sunday’s races.
It was therefore a highly positive Saturday for the Barni Spark Racing Team, but the weekend is far from over.
Two crucial races remain on Sunday: the Superpole Race at 11:00, which will determine the starting grid for Race 2, scheduled for 14:00.

ALVARO BAUTISTA
“This morning we made a few changes compared to yesterday. With the SCX tyre, the feeling was good, but with the SCQ I struggled to find confidence and had several issues during Superpole; the bike was chattering and I couldn’t push as hard as I wanted. For Race 1 we made further changes. The feeling improved slightly, but I was still struggling under braking. The positive aspect is that we collected a lot of useful information, and tomorrow we will try to take another step forward with the bike setup. Today we managed to recover many positions. My foot is still bothering me, but after the race it felt less fatigued than it did in Aragón. We have some ideas to try during warm-up, and I believe we can significantly improve both the feeling and race pace with the SCQ and SCX tyres. Then we’ll see what we can do in the Superpole Race and Race 2“.
